The first chinese emperor may die in murder
July 210 BC, the first chinese emperor died suddenly in sand hill, which is in recent Guangzong town, Henan province. His death in young age was directly affecting the rise and fall of Qin dynasty, and re-wrote the trend of chinese history. The first emperor died, it was certainly a big affair. About the causes of his death, there were a lot of sayings, manily can conclude two kinds: one is died for tiredness, another is murdered by his son.
According to the front saying of dying for tiredness, it was said that the first emperor had rickets and tracheitis when he was young. After growing up, he was unluckily suffered epilepsia, which is also called convulsions, this kind of sickness can outbreak regularly. In 218 BC, Qin emperor visited in Yangwu city to seek for medicine to cure his sickness. Suddenly, a bang accured, a big hammer beated the followed vehicle, which smashed it into pieces. Apparently that it was done some one on purpose to murder him. From that time Qin emperor began to suffer paranoid fears, after that he was living in terror. In 210 BC, the fifth visit of Qin, the aim of this time was to turn danger into safety and seek for the elixir. This long journey had eventually tired him down, on the way back to capital Xianyang, epilepsia outbroke, his head was beated on the bronze ice container, stroke down the container and the ice pieces are out everywhere, then his wound was infected, which appeared the symptoms of headache, vertigo, fever, vomit and so on. The first emperor died in sand hill at last.
The parlance of being murdered was proposed by the chinese famouse writer Guo Moruo. He regarded that the emperor was killed by his impious son-Hu He. The following reasons can explain it:
First, even though the first emperor’s head was hit on the container, it was not the death-wound. According to the conventions, even if his sickness was worsen, there still needed two or three weeks to die. At these time, he absolutely had the time to return back for arranging the affair after he was dead. Secondly, altrough Qin had fever, his consciousness was clear, he was wise at that time, suddenly thougt of he should not be far away from Fu Su and his meritorious statesman Meng Tian. Therefore, he wrote down his last words to the world declaring to hand his position to Fu Su and let Meng Tian control the military power, certainly, this letter would not hand down to Fu Su, because Zhao Gao and Li Si would be punished severely when Fu Su inherited his father’s position. So they changed the content of letter, supporting Hu He to be the next emperor and killing Fu Su and Meng Tian. Qin stayed at sand hill only one night and was dead in sudden, the next morning after his death, Qin was found his right ear with black blood which was stiff as the stone, Guo Moruo considered that Hu He assassinated his own father in order to scramble for the emperor position.
